Charlotte Hungerford Hospital is a 122-bed, general acute care community hospital located in Torrington, Connecticut, that serves as a regional health care resource for the 100,000 residents of Litchfield County and Northwest Connecticut.

Job SummaryThe Public Safety Officer is responsible for the safety and security of patients, visitors, physicians and employees.
Under the general direction of the Public Safety Manager:
plans, controls and organizes day-to-day activities within established parameters to enforce and maintain Hospital and departmental standards of safety and security; patrols and inspects buildings and premises and reports problems to appropriate authorities; performs investigations and documents findings; responds to and assists with emergency situations; and provides assistance to Hospital staff as requested.
In addition, Public Safety Officer will provide visitor and employee escorts, when practical; patrol parking lots for violations; work in cooperation with local law enforcement when circumstances warrant; and maintain strict confidentiality of all information obtained during the course of their duties, as defined by law and Hospital policy.
Qualifications o State of CT Security Guard card required o One year
experience in public safety/security o IAHSS Associate membership, within first year of employment o Healthcare provider level CPR Certification (obtain & maintain)We take great care of careers.
