Human Resources Assistant/Analyst

ITW Powertrain Metals Division serves major tier suppliers with tightly toleranced and innovative components for the automotive and industrial markets totaling approximately $300M in revenues globally. The Division holds a leadership position in North America and a growing presence in Europe. The division also supports ITW initatives for our facility in China.
The division drives profitability by leveraging its innovative solutions, design engineering and global footprint.
Position Objective: Assist with day-to-day Human Resources functions and activities for Naugatuck.
Essential Functions:



  • Maintain and update pertinent employee records, including both hard copy and computer records.

  • Responsible for data entry into HRIS system.

  • Support payroll process.

  • Schedule interviews for Managers and Supervisors, as requested. Coordinate background and drug testing for new hires as needed.

  • Develop and support documentation processes.

  • Conduct preliminary interviews with prospective employees, as requested.

  • Prepare for new employee orientations and perform orientations when needed.

  • Ensure enrollment for insurance benefits for employees.

  • Assist employees on a day-to-day basis with benefit questions and issues.

  • Answer routine inquires from inside and outside the company on benefits claims processing, and job openings.

  • Coordinate temporary help needs through approved temporary employment agencies.

  • Maintain worker's compensation log and employee medical files. Coordinate processing of all workers compensation bills and associated paperwork.

  • Issue employee/temp access cards and maintain computer program files for accurate employee access schedules.

  • Administer uniform, safety shoe and safety glass programs, keeping accurate records and issuing authorization forms as needed.

  • Assist with and help plan and coordinate various employee activities.

  • Assist in annual benefits enrollment, including assembly of informational packets, processing of additions/changes in the computer, assisting employees with elections, etc.

  • Perform clerical functions, update bulletin boards, post and distribute memos and job postings.

  • Complete other duties as assigned or directed.

Qualifications:



  • Previous administrative experience, preferably in a human resources department

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel (or equivalent programs), HRIS software

  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with personnel at all levels of the organization

  • Excellent grammar, writing, organizational and proofreading skills

  • Ability to compose correspondence from written or verbal notes

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience


 

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
