Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings ? carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Purpose of Position:
Provide Inspection support for the Quality Department. This position will report to the Quality Manager (or her backup if absent).
Major Responsibilities:
Responsible for performing in-process and final inspections of electrical and mechanical components, assemblies, and subassemblies of fiber optic and copper components. These products are used in military and government applications.
Must be able to ensure compliance to applicable specifications and customer contract requirements.
This position is also responsible for independently resolving product quality issues with engineering, manufacturing, etc. and all applicable customer requirements.
Aide in Supplier Source and receiving Inspection activities.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Quality Control or Production related experience with Fiber Optic or copper cables desired.
Experience inspecting products used in military and government applications
Proficient in GD&T
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Hands on mechanical skills and competence using mechanical and fiber optic measuring tools.
Attention to Detail and Cleanliness
Must be able to occasionally lift up to 35 lbs.
Fluent in writing, reading and understanding English.
Additional Skills:
Ability to interpret and understand drawings and/or customer specifications and contractual requirements.
Experience working within an AS9100 or ISO9000 Quality Environment \
Must be United States citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States (i.e. "Green Card" holders)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
